Below is a master list of the objectives regarding mastering new words for the various modules in the Litonline webs which support the major competencies from the list of competencies generated at the 2003 VCCS May Symposium on Commonwealth Courses. Competency 103 [New Words]: Exercise a variety of strategies to understand the origins and meanings of new words. The student will analyze word roots and determine derivations of words [as well as definitions of terms and recurring uses of terms in context].
