Hubris? It could have developed, but there wasn't enough time. It takes time for a hero's flaws to overpower him and lead him to disaster. Lee Harvey Oswald's bullet denied time the chance to accomplish that.

As a result, we'll never know whether Kennedy's career would have ended in triumph or tragedy.
