Word 7 is potentially a very slick maker of Web pages; it can be, however, a very volatile editor of web pages.

Here is a preview of the steps with some recommended default selections. To use the Word 7 Web Wizard--

bulletOpen Word 7; then click on "File" and "New" (not the new page icon).

bulletIn the set of tabs that opens, select "Web Pages" and double-click the icon labeled "Web Page Wizard.wiz" to start the wizard.

bulletClick on the names of styles one by one to preview each; then select the one you want to work with today and click "Finish."

bulletThe page is actually a list of instructions.  Highlight each part in turn and start typing as it instructs--heading, paragraph, list items.
More challenges--
bulletUse the icons and menus in Word 7 (remarkably similar to Front Page, aren't they?) to insert the sunset photo at right and size it (it's still in your folder from the Front Page editing try--right click the one on the right, click "save as" and put it on your computer or diskette to insert from there).
bulletMake the contact information table in Word 7 that you made in Page Composer; which software program made the table more easily? The suggested topics were name, rank/field/office, phone, email, fax, web page (if you have made one besides the one in this exercise)--sort of like a business card or personal card in an address book.

When you're ready, go to the "Advanced" page via the site map (it doesn't hurt to look) to learn about making and adding sound files.
